Alpha Rho State 2015 Convention

Hilton Convention Center
Eugene, Oregon

April 17 - 19, 2015

Welcome

Please join us at the Eugene Hilton in Eugene, April 17-19, 2015 for the Alpha Rho State Convention. With our theme of Teach Peace, we will be taking part in workshops that will meet the needs and interests of all attendees.

The Hilton, located in heart of Eugene, is a great place to bring your family. They will enjoy the hotel swimming pool and fitness center, and taking in the sights downtown. Plan to arrive on Friday afternoon, so you can take part in the tour of the Nobel Peace Park. This unique park is dedicated to honoring American winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. We will be meeting at 4:00 to share rides over to the park: you won't want to miss it!

This year's convention will also include keynote speakers who will share stories and visions of peace. In addition, we are proud to welcome Tamara Flores Hernández, DKG International representative from Mexico. Along with sharing greetings and updates from our international office, Tamara will be leading a workshop entitled, Peace Across Borders.

Following our workshops, plan to join us for the Birthday and Awards/Scholarship Luncheon, where we will enjoy great food, great conversation, and a short program. Right after lunch, is our General Session III Business Meeting where our International guest will share her report from headquarters and we will conduct state business. This session will include voting for state officers for the next bienniem and voting on the Proposed Changes to our Standing Rules and By-Laws. All DKG members will have a voice in our new leaders and changes.

Following the meeting, join us on the Mezzanine to hear the results of the Basket Drawing, and then visit the Hospitality Room and the Pre-Banquet social. Then run to your room to get ready for the President's Banquet in the Sousa Room. We will have singing, celebration, installation of state officers, and again great food and conversation. To cap off our busy day, join us in the hospitality suite for the District 5 Reception for our international guest and new state officers. It will be a busy and wonderful day!
