Honor the Delta Kappa Gamma Member who is a visionary from your perspective by nominating her as a Woman of Vision for recognition at the 2009 Southeast Regional
Conference in Little Rock.
What are the characteristics of a WOMAN OF VISION? Perhaps these ideas are some that you consider when
thinking about who you will nominate.
• A WOV is a builder of a new dawn, one who presents
a challenge that brings people together
around a shared purpose–she transforms the old into the new
• A WOV is a social innovator and change agent, seeing
the big picture and thinking in strategic terms
• A WOV works toward a goal for the good of the whole,
not her
own interests
• A WOV sees both sides of the picture and searches for solutions that address the causes of the problems for a real breakthrough
• A WOV is a leader who is both good with actions and words, thus articulating her vision while addressing it
with deeds
• A WOV has core values that characterize her as
possessing integrity– she stands for
something of worth
• A WOV works to make the impossible possible
• A WOV transmit energy to people giving them hope and confidence in attaining their visions
• A WOV sincerely cares for people, seeing them and her
relationship with them as her greatest assets.
Proceeds from the WOMEN OF VISION recognition project
will go toward the Afghanistan Women’s Education Program
of the UN/UNICEF.
