Mission: The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes
professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence
in education..
Dr. Annie Webb Blanton founded the Society
in Austin, Texas, in 1929 as a a medium through which women
leaders in education might receive recognition and to advance
the status of women educators. To this end the
Purposes set forth by the Founders continue to embody the
spirit of the Society today.
The U.S. Forum Steering Committee is the sponsor of the National
Legislative Seminar, March 17th-20th, at the Doubletree Hotel,
Arlington, VA. Information about registration can be found on
the U.S. Forum
website.
Wyoming became part of the Society
on June 1, 1940, in a ceremony conducted by Dr. Blanton.. There
are now 23 chapters in the state.
Alpha Xi State presents scholarships
annually to members who are currently teaching.
Elder Hostel Grants are available
for active members 55 years old or older.
Personal Growth Grants are awarded
to active members no longer teaching.
The Caring Fund is available for members
with special needs.
Publications of Alpha Xi State
keep members informed of the present and past. This spring Let
