The Delta Kappa Gamma Society helps to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The Gamma chapter was first organized in April 30, 1937 by founders Ada Hornsby Earnest, Evangeline Hartsook, and Ina Yoakley to include Carter, Unicoi, and Washington Counties in the state of Tennessee.
