Tennessee Beta Beta Chapter was organized October 24, 1964, by Ruth Looney of Nu Chapter. Fifteen key women educators from Morgan and Scott counties were charter members. The chapter thrived and by 1987 the members decided that another chapter should be established to better serve the members in each county. Thus, Gamma Beta Chapter was organized for Scott County teachers while Beta Beta Chapter was designated for Morgan County teachers.
