Here are some ideas to begin thinking about:
XI STATE NOTES ----The 2nd Annual Statewide Sign-up for the Books from Birth project is planned for September 19 and 26. Individual chapters are encouraged to sign up children between the ages of birth to five years in the respective area; these children will receive one book per month through the mail at no charge until the age of five. Sign-up brochures may be procured from the area Books from Birth representative involved with the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation. Accountability forms for this project will be sent to new area directors for distribution to the respective chapters so that points may be received toward Chapter Excellence Awards. Alpha Pi is exploring the distribution of these brochures druing parent-teacher fall conferences at elementary schools in the Coffee County, Tullahoma City, and Manchester City School systems as an additional means for publicizing Books from Birth. INTERNATIONAL NOTES Many exciting things are happening in Delta Kappa Gamma. There is a new logo with both long and short versions. The Society's Social Network will roll out this fall with numerous services, belts, whistles and online connections for members. Stay connected and watch for regular announcements on the web site. Please note that the July/August issue of the NEWS will not be mailed to you. It will be posted online (Downloads, Publications).
