PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hello Alpha Pi members!

Are you ready to join me for our 3 spring meetings? I am looking forward to being your president through the remainder of our current biennium and I know each of you will do all you can to help our organization be the best it can be. Our Xi State president, Dee Dee Rives, spoke at our November meeting and was quite encouraging.

Our next meeting at 4:30 pm on February 7 at Hickerson Station Elementary School will be an important one. Our program will include a discussion of proposed state legislation in the area of education. Come with any questions you may have and we'll get them answered!

Carmen

COMMITTEE CORNER

Committee chairs have received folders that will be passed on to future chairs to provide consistency in communication as our chapter moves from one biennium to the next. One important component of each folder is a list of duties to be performed by that committee. Each folder also contains an original Recommendation for Membership form that can be copied as needed when potential new members are invited to join. Another page that will remain in the folder has the words to the Delta Kappa Gamma song, collect, and pledge.

The new yearbooks are ready and will be distributed at the February 7 meeting.

CONGRATULATIONS---

To Linda Rollins for her work with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Works. Be sure to check out her picture in this week's Manchester Times as part of an article about the 2011Volunteer of the Year for CASA Works Inc, Raymond Wood. More volunteers are needed!

To all Alpha Pi members whether they are actively teaching or retired! All of us lead busy lives but we need to stay in touch with each other and keep everyone informed about the special events that are occuring in our lives. Our newsletter can provide an avenue for this so let Carmen or Vicki know about what's happening with you or your school.
