XI STATE NOTES

----The 2 nd Annual Statewide Sign-up for theBooks from Birth project is planned forthe week of September 16-22. Individual chapters are encouraged to sign up children between the ages of birth to five years in the respective area; these children will receive one book per month through the mail at no charge until the age of five. Sign-up brochures may be procured from the area Books from Birth representative involved with the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation. Accountability forms for this project will be sent to new area directors for distribution to the respective chapters so that points may be received toward Chapter Excellence Awards.

--- To benefit the Emergency Fund of Delta Kappa International and the Emergency Fund of Florida , a cookbook called “Delta Kappa Gamma Entertains” has been compiled using a collection of recipes from each of the 11 Southeast Region States Delta Kappa Gamma members. The format has a section for each state, such as “Tennessee Entertains” which includes six entertainment menus with all recipes for each of the entertainment events. This will be a great addition to any kitchen library. Cookbooks will be available for $15 at Alpha Pi meetings. Contact Martha Scarbrough for information.
