Qualifications for new applicants
The applicant must
1) be a member of good standing
of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International
for at least three years,
2) have excellent academic,
ethical and professional standards,
3) seek to advance in her
field, by getting an endorsement or a license
in
another area of education, or pursue a graduate degree.
4) submit a recent photograph
with the scholarship application
5) send three letters of recommendation
a.
one from the immediate supervisor in the work place
b.
one from a college instructor who knows the applicant as a student,
c.
one from an individual who can address the applicant's personal character
and accomplishments, ie, chapter president;
6) write a statement of purpose
for the use of the scholarship,
7) send transcripts; and
8) have everything postmarked
no later than March 1, of the
year
of
the application
Requirements of scholarship recipients
A) Recipients must submit
a written report to the Theta State Scholarship
committee on how the monies were spent and include copies of receipts.
Two copies of the Scholarship Accountability Form are sent to the
Scholarship Committee yearly
B) Recipients must make
themselves available to provide expertise to their
chapters' scholarship committees
Reapplying for the scholarship
Applications from members who received a scholarship the previous year
will be
considered along with the
other applications received.
If applying for a second award, a recipient must submit
1) a new application
2) an up-to-date transcript;
3) a revision of the original
statement of purpose to include experiences
