PROFESSIONAL GROWTH STIPEND

CRITERIA/DIRECTIONS FOR APPLYING
Adopted 1998

PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION

Stipends will be granted to members of Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Zeta State working individually or as a team in the amount up to $1000.00 per selected application for the following:

  • Professional growth
  • Personal development
  • Research
  • Travel related to field
  • Educational or community service projects
  • Conference attendance related to field
  1. Criteria for Selection: Applicant(s)
    1. must be a member in good standing and may apply after the first anniversary of their membership.
    2. working as a team require only one participant be a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
    3. will be considered on the basis of their active involvement in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International commensurate with the length of membership.
    4. should show potential for professional growth and leadership development.
    5. should clearly explain the worth of professional growth activity.
    6. are required to provide a follow-up report on awarded activities.
  2. Directions for Applying: Applicant(s) for a professional growth stipend:

    1. must submit the appropriate form provided by the State Scholarship Chairwoman.
    2. must secure two letters of recommendation, one each as follows:
      • personal reference from a person involved with her in the community
      • reference from someone affiliated with the applicant and can attest to the validity of the professional growth activity
    3. must provide a statement of contribution to the chapter/state and participation in chapter/state activities.
    4. must state clearly the rationale of the proposal, including the need, impact and importance of the activity/project. Supportive materials may be attached.
    5. will clearly present the anticipated outcome/results of the activities/project.
    6. must submit a detailed timeline of stipend activities.
    7. must provide a detailed budget outlining the resources necessary to achieve the project goals.
    8. must reflect the anticipated benefits to professional/personal growth, education profession and Delta Kappa Gamma International.
    9. may reapply for a professional growth stipend by submitting an updated application.
    10. must submit all materials by the deadline requirement.
