President's Message...
Greetings from Ginger:
  March Highlights Women’s Issues

Annually on March 8th, International Women's Day is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. Thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. When women on all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their Day, they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.

We have come a long way in 100 years! In 1908, fifteen thousand women marched through New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay, and voting rights. The pertinence of this event is honored through International Women’s Day’s theme “Shaping Progress”. This is a wonderful time to celebrate the achievements of women in general, but especially the outstanding accomplishments of our Beta sisters!
