Greetings from Ginger: Igniting Into Action For 2008! Happy
New Year my Beta sisters! I have to start my first message thanking
those of you that helped with our December 1st fundraiser: Verna
LaBounty, Connie Knain, Leslie Hagemeister, Jolyn Krabbenhoft, and
Donna Wallgren. I also want to thank any of you that helped to spread
the word that we were having a fundraiser.Three of us were dressed for
the season, and between the storytelling and the gift wrapping, we
raised $650 for our scholarship endeavors!
I would also like to thank those who gave to the Unique Boutique event
at the YWCA. If you had seen all the smiles on the faces of the women
and children as they picked out gifts for their loved ones, it would
have added extra joy to your Christmas season! I called the YWCA before
writing this letter and at this time they are in need of hand soap,
coffee, 2008 planners, and I was told they always need meat. If you
bring any items to our February meeting, I will deliver them to the
shelter immediately After
the above events that started the "season of giving" in such a positive
way, I happened upon the readings of Yosse Ghinsberg entitled
Connecting People to Life's Meaning. One of his quotes that made me
think of all of you was, "To give means to have; just as one
candle-flame lights another candle, the light of the first ignites the
other without diminishing that of the first." I am so proud of the work
we do in the community, and that we help "ignite the flames" of hopes,
dreams, and goals for each other and those in need. Not only is the
light not diminished that ignites another; it adds a richness to the
flame!
