COMMITTEE REPORTS
Membership and Courtesy: Our newest member, Mary Anderson was initiated at this meeting.  Mary is a FACS teacher in West Fargo.  Jolyn Krabbenhoft reported that the committee recommended we extend nominations for new members as the flood prevented us from meeting in April.  Invitations to membership can be made until the September meeting when we will vote on acceptance.  A new member tea will be hosted in September with an initiation ceremony in October for any new additional members.
Scholarship:  The  Adeline Stevenson Nurse Scholarship recipient will be announced at the State Convention in June.
Finance:  Collette Folstad recommended that we switch our accounts to State Bank and Trust after researching the advantages.  The membership voted to make the switch.
Literacy:  “Spark a Reader”:  Yvonne Timian, Maureen Scott, Linda Coons, and Debra Boyer suggested using the remaining Golden Grant money (approximately $197) to buy zoo passes to be used by the children at the Y-Shelter.  The committee will look into the feasibility of that idea.
Music: Gerry Flaig informed us that Jodi Stende, and 8th grade student in West Fargo, was the recipient of the Kegel Music Award.  Jodi is a clarinet player as well as a singer.
Rules:Chapter Standing Rules :
Connie Knain moved to accept the revisions to the standing rules as presented by the committee.  Verna LaBounty seconded the motion.  The motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Jolyn Krabbenhoft has applied for a Golden Grant to purchase blank books for the campers at Camp Casey.  The children who have/ had cancer will be encouraged to write and illustrate their own cancer story.

Jolyn also encourage us to consider participating in the Flat Annie Blanton project started by Xi chapter in Cedar Park, Texas.  A likeness of Annie would be sent to various chapters to provide members an opportunity to learn about other chapters and their members.  Debra Boyer agreed to create a Flat Annie for our chapter and begin the process of sending her on her journey to other chapters.
