Meeting Minutes February 20, 2009
Program: A Celebration of Women and Their Music at the Fargo Theatre
Beta
Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met Saturday, February 20, 2010, at
Zandbroz Variety Store. Beta’s meeting was called to order
by Ann Braaten, president with nine (9) members present.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of November 7, 2009, approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report: Collette Folstad reported a balance of $1,902.46 with total assets of $31,131.10.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Membership and Courtesy:
We were reminded to invite new members and bring them to the March
meeting. We will invite prospective members to the April 10
meeting at the Comstock House. This will replace the orientation
tea. New members will have the opportunities to ask questions and learn
more about the organization.
Unfinished Business:
Deb
Boyer reported that Flat Annie had been sent to Ohio and to Texas.
Deb also emailed a organization in England and one in Minnesota
as potential visits for Annie. She is waiting to hear from them.
An invitation will be sent to Tau (Whapeton) and Zeta(Mayville) to attend our May meeting when State Pres. Karen Walz visits.
Beta
is looking for a new editor for Beta Bits. Verna LaBounty is
willing to mentor the volunteer as she transitions into publishing the
newsletter.
NEW BUSINESS:
We will be creating “May Baskets” for the YWCA Shelter for the May meeting.
Connie
Knain has yellow permission cards for members to sign to allow the use
of their pictures on the websites as well as the newsletters.
The
nomination committee of Jo Cavins-Ginger Dietz- and Verna LaBounty are
seeking interested parties for the new slate of officers.
Announcements:
March 6-The
meeting begins at 9:00 at Barnes and Noble. Pick up a coffee and
a treat on your own and head to the left side of the building for our
meeting. The program will begin at 10:00. It is open to the
public and is entitled “Finding Your Passion in Today’s Job
Market”. Remember to bring guests and recommendations of
new members to this meeting.
June 11-12 Alpha Omicron State Workshop in Valley City
