Meeting
Minutes February 2, 2007
Program: Jenny Knoll Rheault, M.A., personal
coach and life skills advisor, presented a program entitled,
“Your Meaningful Life”.
Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met Saturday, February 2, 2008, at
North Town Grill, 3520 12th Avenue North, Fargo, ND. The
meeting was called to order by Ginger Dietz, president, with 34 members
and 1 guest present.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of November 3, 2007, Meeting were
approved as published in Beta Bits.
Treasurer’s Report: Linda Fricker reported the balance on
hand was $1,248.24 with total assets of $28,415.76. She also reported
that there are 61 Beta Chapter Members.
Correspondence: Linda Fricker received a membership transfer letter
from Alberta Dolby who has moved to Springfield, Ohio.
Alberta also sent a thank you card for the clock she received from the
chapter.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Nominations: Verna LaBounty reported that she and Diane
Ornberg, nomination committee members, will be preparing the slate of
officers for the upcoming biennial election.
Beta Bits: Verna LaBounty reported that she had mailed Beta Bits to the
4 members who are not online. Verna also asked each member to sign a
“consent form” for the International Delta Kappa
Gamma Society which will allow members pictures to be used on the
website. The signed forms will enable the Beta Chapter
Website to be reauthorized as an official website.
Membership: Jolyn Krabbenhoft gave each member a nomination form and an
information sheet with the qualifications needed to be nominated.
Nominations will be presented at the March Meeting. The
Informational Tea will be held March 15, 2008. Initiation will be held
at the May Meeting.
World Fellowships: Jeannette Dittman stated that the World Fellowship
program was started in 1946 as a project to aid women in war torn
countries. The committee recommended that each member donate $1 and
that at the April Meeting each member bring gently used books for a
“Book Share” with each hard bound book on sale for
$1 and paperbacks on sale for .50 cents. Approved.
Jeannette also informed the members that Verna LaBounty is Chairperson
of the State World Fellowship Committee.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Committees: Ginger stated that all the Committee Reports have been
completed.
Fundraising: The Barnes and Noble Book Fair Fundraiser held
December l, 2007, raised $650.
Expanding Your Horizons: Ginger encouraged members to bring
prizes appropriate for Junior High School Girls to the March Meeting.
YWCA Donations: Ginger thanked the members for their generous
donations to the Unique Boutique.
NEW BUSINESS
Dreams Project: Several members will be involved in the
“Creating Healthy Smiles” Project being held at
Barnes & Noble, Saturday, February 16, 2008.
