Meeting
Minutes March 1, 2007
Program: Professor
Deb White, Minnesota State University, Moorhead, Mn. presented a
program on the Tri-College New Leadership Development Institute.
Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met Saturday, March 1, 2008, at North Town Grill, 3250 12th Avenue North, Fargo, ND. The meeting was called to order by Ginger Dietz, president, with nineteen (19) members and one (1) guest present.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the February 2, 2008, meeting were approved as published in Beta Bits.
Treasurer’s Report: Linda Fricker reported a balance of $1,235.48 with total assets of $29,053.00.
Correspondence: A thank you card from the YWCA thanking the chapter for the donated items.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Membership and Courtesy:
Committee Chairperson, Jolyn Krabbenhoft, reminded the members to turn
in their membership nomination forms. The membership forms are
on-line and the members can still nominate candidates for membership.
World Fellowships:
Committee Chairperson, Jeannette Dittman, contacted ten (10) current
World Fellowship recipients. She heard from five (5) of the award
winners. The background and life of two (2) of the winners was
shared with the members. Jeanette reminded the members of the
Book Share which will be held at the April Meeting.
Nominations: Committee
Chairperson, Verna LaBounty, stated that the following members have
agreed to be a nominated: President-Ann Braaten; First
Vice-President-Linda Fricker; Co-Second Vice-Presidents-Linda Coons and
Elaine Strand; Recording Secretary-no nominee.
David Kegel Memorial Music Grant: Application forms will be sent Monday, March 3, 2008.
State Survey: Connie
Knain, State Immediate Past President, stated that National Delta Kappa
Gamma is sending out surveys to members who have served on national
committees. The survey results will be sent to the State Rules
Committee which will prioritize the results and use the data to revise
and update the Alpha Omicron Handbook. State Rules Committee
Chairperson is Ann Braaten. Connie Knain is also on the committee.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Expanding Your Horizons: Ginger Dietz, president, thanked the members who donated door prizes.
NEW BUSINESS
New Leadership Institute:
Linda Fricker moved that Beta Chapter donate twenty-five dollars ($25)
to the Tri-College New Leadership Development Institute. Seconded by
Verna LaBounty and approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dr. Seuss: Ginger Dietz
and Jolyn Krabbenhoft will be at the YWCA Shelter from 1:30-3:30 p.m.,
March 2, 2008, reading to the children in celebration of Dr.
Seuss’s Birthday.
Scholarship Coupons: Diane Ornberg encouraged members to buy a
five dollar ($5) coupon at Herbergers and in return get ten dollars
($10) of merchandise. Benefit ADK Scholarship.
Transfer: Bonnie Dailey has transferred to Beta Chapter from the Watford City, ND Chapter.
