Gamma Phi annually funds a scholarship to a rising senior majoring in Education at Lenoir-Rhyne College.
Catawba Valley Community College Scholarship
Gamma Phi annually funds a scholarship to a student at CVCC who wishes to major in Education.
Sixth Grade Scholarship (CVCC)
Gamma Phi annually contributes to a scholarship fund for sixth graders, to serve
as an incentive to stay in school. A promise is made and the scholarship
is received when they graduate from high school.
Chapter Scholarship
Gamma Phi offers its members a local scholarship to advance or add to their current
degree. The scholarship form and scholarship guidelines are available in PDF format.
Book It Across NC Project
Gamma Phi has placed over 5,000 books throughout Catawba County. Baskets, containing
books (for children), magazines, and other reading materials, have been
left and replaced on a regular basis at the Geitner Home for Women,
the Abused Women's Shelter, the African-American Church, Social Services
offices, the Flynn Home for Men, and at various laundromats, doctors'
waiting rooms and at both hospitals in our county.

During the 2009-2010 school year, Gamma Phi delivered at least two filled book bags to every school in Catawba County. The 47 schools included 24 elementary school, 9 middle schools and 11 high schools, as well as 3 specialty schools. The 134 book bags were
prepared for students who arrive at a new school and are in need of
supplies; 10 schools were given extra bags based on economic need in the school area. Gamma Phi will continue this successful community project and prepare and deliver more of these book bags in the future.
