Mrs. Hazel Kornegay , an active member of Alpha Eta today was initiated into Iota Chapter October 26, 1946. Teachers from Duplin and Sampson  counties were members of Iota chapter in Wayne County.   Due to Expansion, Alpha Eta Chapter was Chartered April 6, 1956 with teachers from Duplin and Sampson counties.  Mrs. Hazel Kornegay and Mrs. Louise Mitchell, both active members of Alpha Eta today were members at the time of the split from Wayne County.

Membership grew in these two counties and in 1970 Expansion occurred again with a split in Duplin and Sampson counties.  Alpha Eta now consists of teachers from Duplin County;  Sampson County has two chapters--Beta Rho and Delta Mu.

The members from Duplin County the first year of  Alpha Eta  (1956-57) were:
