Founders Fund for First – Timers to International Conventiondue December 15th

For an active two-year member who has never attended the International Convention

For an active two-year member who is pursuing graduate study at an accredited institution either full or part time

Founders’ Funddue March 1st

For an active two-year member who has a special project.  These projects can include education travel or study, pilot projects, society seminars, study groups, conferences or conventions, or other appropriate activities.  Examples of projects that have been awarded money include:

Adopting a Family Literacy Group

Attendance at two events to support a Gifted and Talented Endorsement

Support of a Creative Writing Contest for seven area schools

Attending conferences

Participation in US Forum

Attend a Reading and Writing Workshop


International

Scholarships due February 1st

Increased to $6000 of a member who has completed a Master’s Degree enrolled in a graduate program at a nationally accredited institution of higher learning preferably pursuing a Doctoral Degree.  Applications available on the International website.


Educational Foundationvarious due dates check below

The money from the foundation is for both member and non-members.  Awards fund three areas: Projects, Cornetet Individual Professional Development, Seminar for Purposeful Living.  The money for these awards is through contributions, memorials, bequests, and pledges to Make a Miracle.  Applications available for each of these is available on the International website.


Cornetet Individual Professional Development Awards due Feb 1, May 1 and Sept 1

In 2009 awards ranged from $700 - $1800 to attend various professional development opportunities.


Seminar for Purposeful Living Awards – due Nov 1

In 2009 awards ranged from $855 - $7500 supporting members attendance at the seminar that occurs prior to the International Convention.


Projects – due Jan 2, 2010

In 2009 awards ranged from $300 - $4500 for support various types of projects.  Some of the projects are renewed projects.  Adele Silverman, Auburn Maine,  received $1500 in 2009 for a project titled Delta Kappa Gamma Read-to-Me Project.
